Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans as developed by the supervising Physical Therapist, ensuring tailored strategies meet each patient's rehabilitation needs.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, providing hands-on guidance for manual therapy techniques and mobility training to promote functional independence.
• Administer various modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold therapy, actively participating in the therapeutic process.
• Continuously monitor patient progress and document findings accurately, collaborating with the Physical Therapist to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients on effective injury prevention strategies and provide comprehensive home exercise programs to facilitate ongoing recovery.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations while ensuring accurate clinical documentation and patient records.
• Engage in interprofessional collaboration, working alongside nurses, occupational therapists, and other health professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will serve a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, musculoskeletal disorders, and general mobility challenges. Our focus is on creating unique treatment pathways that cater to the individual needs of each patient, fostering their pathways to recovery.

Qualifications

• Possession of an active Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in New Jersey.
• A bachelor's degree in health sciences or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated ability to assist with therapeutic interventions and patient education.
• Strong communication skills and empathy to build rapport with patients and their families.
• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems is preferred but not mandatory.

Preferred Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a physical therapy setting is required, preferably within an outpatient orthopedic environment. New graduates with strong clinical rotation experiences will also be considered.
• Proficiency in therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and patient education techniques is highly desirable.

Compensation and Benefits

• Competitive salary ranging between $70,000 to $90,000 per year, commensurate with experience and credentials.
