Job Description
This full-time Commercial Painter Foreman role focuses primarily on commercial painting, with approximately 90% of the work dedicated to painting activities. You lead and supervise up to 15 subcontractors and three in-house crew members on new construction, renovation, and tenant improvement projects across Texas. You coordinate daily jobsite activities, ensure high-quality workmanship, maintain project schedules, and promote a safe, compliant work environment while working alongside your team when needed.
Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise commercial painting crews, including subcontractors and in-house teams, on new construction, renovation, and tenant improvement projects.
• Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure crews meet production goals and project timelines.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project schedules to plan and execute work effectively.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate painters and laborers to build skills and maintain performance standards.
• Ensure all surfaces are properly prepared, including sanding, patching, masking, caulking, and priming before application.
• Oversee the application of paints, coatings, stains, epoxies, and specialty finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
• Conduct regular quality control inspections to ensure work meets company and client standards.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with project managers, general contractors, superintendents, and other trades.
• Track labor hours, material usage, and daily production reports to support accurate project management.
• Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials and ensure they are available and in good working condition.
• Enforce OSHA regulations and company safety policies on all job sites to maintain a safe work environment.
• Identify and resolve jobsite challenges promptly to keep projects on schedule.
• Travel as needed to project sites throughout Texas, typically short trips of about two days, with travel estimated at up to 25% of the time.
• Work flexible hours on both day and night shifts while maintaining a 40-hour workweek, including occasional weekends as project needs arise.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 years of commercial painting experience.
• Strong knowledge of commercial painting methods, materials, coatings, and equipment.
• Ability to lead crews and provide direction on job sites, with at least 1 year of experience in a foreman or supervisory role preferred.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Hands-on experience with roll and spray painting techniques.
• Experience using airless spray equipment and other commercial painting tools.
• Ability to work safely with lifts, scaffolding, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and at heights.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation.
• Clean driving record (DMV/MVR).
• Ability to pass pre-employment screenings as required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb throughout the workday.
• Comfort working in varying weather conditions and on diverse jobsite environments, including high-rise structures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience managing crews of 520 painters on commercial projects.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
• Experience with industrial painting and specialty coatings.
• Experience working on large commercial projects such as office buildings, hospitals, schools, warehouses, data centers, or multifamily developments.
• Drywall experience.
• Experience operating scissor lifts and boom lifts.
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus.

Work Environment
You work on commercial projects in both new and existing buildings, handling interior and exterior painting that can include high-rise structures. The role involves flexible scheduling with day and night shifts, typically within a 40-hour workweek and only occasional weekends. You travel to various sites across Texas, generally on short trips. The environment is active and physically demanding, requiring regular lifting, climbing, and work at heights using ladders, scaffolds, scissor lifts, and boom lifts. You operate spray equipment, rollers, and other professional painting tools in diverse jobsite and weather conditions while adhering to strict safety standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plano, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
