Whether working directly with students or supporting them behind the scenes, every role contributes to a shared mission: helping students grow, succeed, and lead with purpose and confidence.Title: Assistant Athletic TrainerDirect Supervisor: Head Athletic TrainerStatus: Full-Time, Exempt, 10-monthGrade:10Division: PresidentNo. Direct Reports: 0Target Weekly Hours: 40Location: 2807 N Glebe (Main Campus)Benefits Eligibility: YesMAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESProvide athletic training services for all Marymount University student-athletes and for student-athletes of visiting teams traveling without an athletic trainer for all home games.Provide practice and game day coverageWork closely with the Head Athletic Trainer, Team Physician, Director of the Student Health Center, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and each coach staff to address any injury or illness concernsEnsure medical records are kept up to date including history, daily treatment records, injury reports and physician referrals while in compliance with all current regulations.Assist with pre-participation screeningsFollow primary and secondary insurance procedures for compliance with University and NCAA policiesKnowledge of and support to manage the athletic training budgetSupervise University and/ or NCAA drug testing as directedOTHER DUTIES AND ASSIGNMENTSMaintain supplies and equipment inventory providing Head Athletic Trainer with appropriate bids and quotes.Assist with recruiting and supervising work study students and visiting athletic training studentsManage and supervise the care and maintenance of the training room facilitiesAid in providing in-service training for athletic department staffWork closely with Head Athletic Trainer to develop individual goalsResponsible for working with supervisor and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators.Performs other duties as assigned.Compensation/Total RewardsThe salary range for this position is $48,000- $50,000. Ability to teach, effectively communicate with diverse populations; organize and maintain a clean working environment.ExperienceA minimum of 2 years of related experience, working with collegiate athletes desired; Must have strong communications skills including ability to communicate by telephone/text/email.Licenses or CertificationsNATABOC Certified Athletic TrainerFinancial ResponsibilitySupporting the preparation and management of the annual athletic training office budget.SupervisionAthletes while training, student trainers and AT grad assistant (if on staff in a given year)Special KnowledgeExperience/certification with alternative therapies (IASTM, myofascial decompression, blood flow restriction, dry needling, etc…) to enhance the student-athletes treatment and recovery process is a plusSPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONSAbility to travel; heavy lifting required (50 pounds and over); may be required to work when the university is closed.
