Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 60 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

• BSN completion preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System.

Additional Details:

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe. No medical marijuana cards accepted. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Trauma experience. Interpretation/Management of Dysrhythmias required. Blood Product Administration, Peripheral Line Care/Management, Phlebotomy, Starting IVs, Insulin, PCA, Spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain injury, Ortho trauma, Peripheral nerve block catheters, Total Joint Replacements, Surgical drains, Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, CPAP/BiPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nasal Cannula, Oral suctioning, Oxygen face masks, Portable Oxygen tank, Isolation Precautions, Wound Care/Wound Vac.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience: Preferred.

Required Credentials: Will need to pass Relias EKG exam.

Special Requests: Local candidates not accepted within 75 mile radius. Please, no more than 7 days of RTO per 13 week contract - if a shift is missed, please work to make up as soon as possible if able.

Unit Details: Adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient population. Patients come from ED, OR, or ICU. Geriatric trauma: 55 yo + with trauma. Trauma: Abuse/violence victims, MVA, MVC, Falls. Acute Care Surgery: appendicitis, gallbladders, hernia repairs, fistulas, wounds, burns, TBI. Uses lifts, restraints, wound vacs, traction, and external fixators.

Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required. No call required. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.

Floating Requirements: Will float within service line to meet facility needs.
