Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1.5 years in Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit License: Current Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Chemo Certified (preferred) Must-Have: Oncology experience is required. Sickle cell experience and chemo certification are preferred, but not required. Application must include demonstrated experience in a 1:5 patient ratio in the Work History section for Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit. Must have EPIC experience. Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting. Must be able to read and interpret dysrhythmias. Description: The unit is a 35-bed medical and radiation oncology unit specializing in oncology and hematology patients. The unit accommodates both Med Surg and Advanced Care patients. Nurses administer blood products and chemotherapy treatments. Skills required include starting and maintaining IVs. RNs on the unit must have ONS Certification for administering chemotherapy. The unit sees diverse diagnoses, requiring a range of nursing skills including managing drips, patient-controlled analgesia, wounds, and more. Patient ratios can range from 1:4 to 1:6, depending on acuity levels. Nurses must be able to float to all Stepdown and Advanced Care units when necessary. Weekend and holiday availability is required. Travelers will be first to float at management's discretion. The agency reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low census.
