Are you an experienced Swiss or Lathe Setup Operator looking for a weekend shift with a three-day workweek? We’re seeking a skilled machinist to join our Screw Department in Hamilton, OH. If you have hands-on setup experience with Swiss screw machines or multi-spindle lathes and take pride in producing quality work, we’d like to hear from you.
Position: Swiss & Lathe Setup Operator - 4th Shift
Location: Hamilton, OH
Department: Screw Department
Schedule: Friday - Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Position Overview
The Swiss & Lathe Setup Operator is responsible for setting up and operating Swiss screw machines and multi-spindle lathe machines while maintaining quality standards, following ISO requirements, and adhering to all safety and housekeeping procedures.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Swiss screw machines and multi-spindle lathe machines.
- Load bar stock, fill machine fluids, and remove chips from machines.
- Perform tooling changes and machine adjustments to maintain product specifications.
- Inspect and ensure products meet quality standards.
- Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
- Help train team members on machine setup and operation as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow all ISO, safety, and company procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of Swiss setup or lathe setup experience, or completion of a Swiss/Lathe machining education program.
- This is not a trainable position.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and mathematical functions.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, electrical schematics, and machine drawings.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours.
- Frequent bending, pushing, and lifting of 30+ pounds.
- Comfortable working in both hot and cold manufacturing environments.
