Plant Quality Engineer

Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a Plant Quality Engineer for our facility in Macomb, MI.Duties/ResponsibilitiesDaily collaboration with cross-functional teams including operations, engineering, manufacturing, and inspection to ensure high quality product is delivered to our customersUnderstand and analyze complex problems and derive solutionsEffectively communicate technical issues, solutions, ideas, and concepts to a diverse audience including Program Managers, Customers, and Executive ManagementDetermine material review board dispositions for product nonconformancesUse data analytics for products/processes to investigate nonconformance history, identify trends, and drive action to reduce defectsIdentify opportunities for quality improvements and remove non-value-added wasteLead and participate in nonconformance investigations to analyze and determine root cause, define corrective actions, and ensure corrective action implementation is effectiveParticipate in program and quality assurance reviewsTrack and report monthly quality performance metricsReview customer drawings and specifications and to fully understand requirement flow downsPrepare and review quality documentation including policies, procedures, processes, and First Articles to ensure compliance to internal and external requirementsConduct internal audits of products, processes and procedures and act as a credible escort for internal and external auditorsUnderstand the design intent, requirements, and specifications of our products as well as the manufacturing processes, process controls and failure modesProvide support in development and evaluation of product and process capability, process control plans, analysis of conditions, and process audits with the objective of improving process performance and capability.Other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)3+ years of relevant work experience in Aerospace manufacturing qualityAS9100 ExperienceStrong problem-solving skillsExperience with machined componentsExperience in reading machined product drawingsProficiency in utilizing Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and OutlookExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to work independentlyStrong interpersonal skills with ability to interface with an organization at all levelsAbility to organize and prioritize multiple tasksDemonstrated work ethicStrong attention to detailAbility to take the initiative to become involved in activities to help resolve problems and make improvementsPreferred QualificationsMaster’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)3+ years of experience in a Quality Role in an Aerospace manufacturing environmentGeometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) TrainedExperience with Dimensional Inspection TechniquesLean or Six Sigma experienceExperience with Advanced Quality Processes (PPAP, APQP, PFMEA, 8D, A3 Problem Solving)Compliance and Regulatory experienceExperience facilitating effective Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA)Working knowledge of Material Review Board (MRB) standards, practices and Customer engagement.Experience with New Product Introduction and Program Start-upProven track record of understanding and managing First Article InspectionPhysical RequirementsAbility to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipmentMust be capable of withstanding long period of viewing data on a computer screen and/or paper formatTriumph Offers Outstanding Benefits, Including:Flexible Time OffCompany Paid HolidaysHealth Insurance starting on your first dayCompany Paid Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Life Insurance, Accidental Death, and Dismemberment (AD&D)Paid Parental LeaveEmployee Assistance Program401(k) Match (75% match up to 6%)Recognition and Service Award ProgramsEducational Assistance ProgramEmployee Referral ProgramOnsite Fitness Center – Free!Climate controlled environment
