Factory Commissioning Test Technician - Rolling Stock Location: Sacramento, California, United States of America The Factory Commissioning Test Technician is responsible for commissioning, troubleshooting, and performing repairs on next-generation light rail vehicles, locomotives, and coaches. This role requires hands‑on expertise with electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic systems to ensure vehicles meet operational and safety standards. The technician validates system functionality and supports the delivery of high‑quality rolling stock to customers. What your day‑to‑day will look like Perform electrical and mechanical commissioning on locomotive and coach cars Troubleshoot, document, and repair electrical and mechanical failures Work with state‑of‑the‑art dialogistic test equipment Understand and comply with company and industry safety standards Communicate technical information verbally and in writing, including job procedure recommendations Collaborate independently and within a multidisciplinary team Read, interpret, and understand written or electronic schematics Use PTU’s to troubleshoot various systems onboard light rail, locomotive and coach vehicles To thrive in this role, you have High school diploma (or GED) 3+ years of experience in electrical testing Proficiency in electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical troubleshooting Willingness to work in non‑climate‑controlled environments and inclement weather if required Why you’ll love working for Siemens!
