Job Summary

Seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with manufacturing accounting experience to support financial operations for a company specializing in custom-engineered electrical products.

The ideal candidate will have experience with general ledger accounting, job costing, inventory reconciliation, and financial reporting in a manufacturing or project-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures.
• Track manufacturing costs, including labor, materials, and overhead.
• Support job costing for custom-engineered manufacturing projects.
• Reconcile inventory, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and balance sheet accounts.
• Analyze production costs, budget variances, and project profitability.
• Assist with work-in-process (WIP) accounting and reporting.
• Prepare financial reports and support internal and external audits.
• Work with production, purchasing, and project management teams to ensure accurate cost tracking.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and follow GAAP standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Understanding of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory, and job costing.
• Experience with general ledger reconciliations and month-end close.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and analytical skills.

Preferred Experience

• Engineer-to-Order (ETO) or Make-to-Order (MTO) manufacturing.
• Work-in-process (WIP) accounting.
• Standard costing versus actual costing.
• Labor, material, and overhead allocation.
• Project-based financial reporting.
• ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Epicor, or Microsoft Dynamics.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A Staff Accountant who understands both traditional accounting and manufacturing operations. The strongest candidates will have experience tracking costs for customized products, reconciling inventory, analyzing WIP, and supporting accurate financial reporting.
