Entry Level Customer Service Representative

This is an entry level position responsible for providing internal customer service with a broad range of operational support activities for local and regional Pike Engineering operations. This role will report to a Supervisor or Manager in a Pike Engineering office.

Under supervision the individual in this role is expected to:

Complexity of work: Semi-routine; majority of work covered by established procedures.

Relationship outside work group: Exchange of information, which occasionally requires tact and/or diplomacy.

Supervisory responsibilities: N/A

Education and/or experience:

Education:

• Required high school degree or GED.
• Preferred associates degree (AA or equivalent from two-year college or technical school).

Experience:

0-1 year(s) experience in similar support role or performing general administrative duties. Familiarity with utility or engineering office operations is preferred.

Language skills:

1. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operational procedures, etc.
2. Ability to write simple correspondence.

Mathematical skills:

1. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
2. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret spreadsheets.

Reasoning ability:

A. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

B. Ability to deal with problems involving few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Other skills and abilities:

• Required computer skills and knowledge of relevant software
• Required knowledge of operation of standard office equipment
• Required knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures and systems such as filing and record keeping
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and follow through on assignments
• High energy level with ability to work in fast paced, ambiguous environment
• Professional appearance maintained at all times
• Ability to deal and work well with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
