Billing Specialist

Billing Specialist Ruth and Norman Rales Jewish Family Services is seeking a Full Time Billing Specialist who will be responsible for efficient billing and record keeping practices. The candidate will provide support to the Billing Operations Manager. Required Skills and Education Minimum High School Diploma College Degree Preferred Related Certification 1 year experience working in a health care office Preferred Strong working knowledge of billing guidelines, insurance rules by carrier, and comfort in utilizing an electronic health record. Able to utilize Microsoft Office products with a strong skillset in Excel and Teams. Communicate with insurance companies to include claim processing issues. Assist clients with initial paperwork. Complete verification of benefits and monthly eligibility checks. Accurately update and maintain clients' records. Communicate with clients about fees, payment plans, financial assistance, and insurance questions. Pre-authorization of insurance (copay, co‑insurance, and deductible). Obtaining EOBS from insurance companies. Work in collaboration with Billing Operations Manager and Director of Health Services on reconciling accounts receivable and revenue cycle management. Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, disputes, and payment‑related problems. Speak to clients about balances on accounts and collecting balances.
