IT Help Desk Technician

About the Job The Help Desk Technician is an entry-level position designed to develop IT support skills while assisting with technical issues for end users. Working closely with IT team members, this technician will gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting hardware and software environments. The Help Desk Technician will report directly to the Technical Services Supervisor and work closely together with other members of the Helpdesk Team. What You’ll Do IT Support Respond to and resolve Tier 1 help desk incidents and service requests submitted via the ticketing system, phone, or email. Follow up on outstanding requests to ensure timely resolution and excellent customer service. Create and manage user accounts for internal systems and cloud-based applications. Stage, configure, and deploy hardware for new employee onboarding. Provide support for desktop hardware, software, peripherals, printers, and mobile devices. Install, test, configure, and troubleshoot workstations, peripheral equipment, and software. Perform workstation hardware and software upgrades as needed. Maintain inventory of IT equipment, software, and software licenses. Assist with desktop imaging and software deployment. Help employees maximize productivity through effective use of technology. Collaborate with management to identify opportunities for process and technology improvements. Salesforce & Ticket Management Manage and update help desk tickets within Salesforce. Assist users with basic Salesforce functionality and access issues. Identify opportunities for system improvements and communicate recommendations to management. Perform additional Salesforce-related tasks as assigned. Other Responsibilities Perform other duties and projects as assigned. Required Qualifications Ability to lift and move equipment weighing up to 30 pounds. Experience with Salesforce is preferred. IT Help Desk, desktop support, or technical customer support experience preferred. Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and relevant experience. Relevant certifications (such as CompTIA A+, Google IT Support Professional Certificate, or Microsoft Fundamentals) are preferred.
