Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring current level 1 PICU experience and an active OH State or Compact RN license

Details

• Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a children's hospital setting
• 13-week assignment on night shift, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:30
• Floating required to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and MS units as needed
• Must be prepared to receive an appropriate assignment when floating to other units
• Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required (CVPICU-only experience does not qualify)
• First-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of PICU experience and recent level 1 experience
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in IV therapy including arterial line management, central line care, and PICC line management
• Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and administration of emergency medications such as antiarrhythmics and IV vasopressors
• Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
• 2 professional references required at time of consideration, with at least one from a manager or supervisor (charge references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric ICU patients, including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and gastrointestinal care
• Candidates must not have worked in a permanent role at this facility within the last 2 years
• No local candidates allowed; a 60-mile radius rule applies for RN positions
• First-time travelers will be considered if they meet the higher experience threshold noted above
• Travel experience is required for this position
