Accounting Assistant

We are seeking an organized and self-motivated individual to add to our growing organization. Our organization specializes in supplying and installing frames, doors, hardware, and specialties in the commercial sector. As an accounting assistant, you will be working directly with upper management on accounts payable and accounts receivable, but also assist with creating new files and other general duties around the office. You should have knowledge in current office computer programs.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

· Entering bills against our purchase orders

· Assist in tasks related to invoicing our customers

· Comparing pricing on acknowledgements from vendors for discrepancies against our purchase orders

· Creating reports to be reviewed by upper management

· Following up with our customers or vendors about outstanding items

· Maintain positive and professional staff and client relationships

· Carry out proper documentation and filing for both paper and electronic files

· Ensure specific deadlines are met as outlined by upper management

· Maintain strong relationships with vendors

· Handle requests, feedback, and other tasks quickly and professionally

· Assist upper management as instructed with miscellaneous tasks such as order entry, communicating with our vendors and customers, and material tracking.

Requirements & Qualifications

· QuickBooks experience required

· High school degree minimum; additional degrees or certifications a plus

· Current in today’s office technology and computer software including Microsoft Office

· Basic math skills

· Good communicator, both orally and written

· Excellent customer service skills

· Ability to prioritize given tasks and work efficiently towards completing them

· Familiar with common office equipment

· Detail oriented and exceptional organizational skills

· Professional demeanor

· Flexible to meet the demands of our growing organization

· Ability to multitask effectively and calmly under pressure

· Ability to think on your feet and troubleshoot challenges as they arise

Salary Range

· $14.00 - $20.00 / hr. depending applicable prior experience
