Postdoctoral Research Associate - Nephrology

Position Summary Our laboratory at WashU in St. Louis is seeking a postdoctoral experimental biologist to join our interdisciplinary team studying urogenital diseases and cancer. The team combines experimentation and computational analyses to advance precision medicine, integrating data from human specimens, cell lines, organoids, patient‑derived xenograft models, and murine genetic models. The lab collaborates extensively with basic/translational scientists and computational biologists locally, nationally, and internationally. The lab is also heavily involved in multiple large‑scale NIH consortia, including GUDMAP, HTAN, SenNet, PDXNet, and CPTAC, using multi‑omics and imaging technologies such as single‑cell, spatial omics, CODEX and 3D imaging to study disease pathogenesis, treatment, and to build reference databases and atlases. Prepares and submits papers on research. Assists in the design of research experiments. Evaluates research findings and assists in reporting of the results. Conscientious discharge of research responsibilities. Maintains conformity with ethical standards in research. Maintains compliance with good laboratory practice including adequate research records. Engages in open and timely discussion with mentor regarding material, reagents, or records belonging to the laboratory and any proposed disclosure of findings or techniques publicly or privately. Collegial conduct towards co‑trainees, staff members and research group. Adherence to all applicable University policies, procedures and regulations. All data, research records and materials and other intellectual property generated in University laboratories remain the property of the University. Working Conditions This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards. The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and provide standard care to research animals. Salary Range Base pay is commensurate with experience. Education Required Qualifications: Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent terminal or doctoral degree. Preferred Qualifications Recent doctoral degree in a relevant field, including Genetics, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Biochemistry, or Pharmacology. Extensive experience in laboratory‑based experimental biology. Experience with urogenital research, transgenic mice, omics, and imaging. Demonstrated ability to work independently to generate, analyze, and present research results. Ability to help prepare manuscripts.
