ITL Group Server – Restaurant Job Description

Position Summary

The Server is responsible for delivering a consistent, professional, and high-quality dining experience in accordance with ITL Group service standards. This role requires strong product knowledge, attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Servers are expected to uphold company policies, health and safety regulations, and professional conduct standards at all times.

Core Responsibilities

Guest Service & Operations

• Provide attentive, courteous, and professional service throughout the guest dining experience.
• Assist guests with menu selections, dietary inquiries, and food and beverage recommendations.
• Accurately enter orders into the POS system and communicate with kitchen and bar staff.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and in accordance with service standards.
• Conduct regular table check-backs and address guest concerns in a timely and professional manner.
• Verify guest identification to ensure compliance with alcohol service laws.

Team & Shift Responsibilities

• Reset and prepare tables for new guests; Servers are responsible for their assigned section.
• Perform assigned opening, closing, and side-work duties.
• Maintain clean, stocked, and organized service stations.
• Assist other team members as needed to support overall service flow.
• Attend all required meetings and training sessions.

Cash Handling & Compliance

• Arrive to each shift with a complete and accurate bank.
• Process all guest payment transactions, including cash, credit cards, discounts, promotions, gift cards, and approved comps.
• Follow all cash-handling, receipt-balancing, and reporting procedures.

Cleanliness & Safety

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with health, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Perform general cleaning tasks as assigned.
• Use restaurant equipment and supplies properly to minimize waste, loss, or damage.

Professional Standards & Appearance

• Employees must maintain a clean, neat, and professional appearance at all times.
• The use of cologne, perfume, or other scented products while on duty is prohibited.
• Chewing gum while working is prohibited.
• Compliance with all ITL Group grooming, hygiene, uniform, and health code standards is required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to follow procedures and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment. Alcohol awareness certification and/or valid food handler permit as required by law.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks. Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
