Network Engineer

Overview This position requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to address system problems using a team approach, and the flexibility to work well with co‑workers in a variety of problem situations. The role involves installing, configuring, and supporting systems and software that provide tactical value to the business, including security applications and appliances, wired and wireless networks, and a VOIP telephone system. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain systems and software supporting business operations. Provide primary support for Palo Alto firewalls and related security applications. Support VOIP phone systems and handsets. Maintain network infrastructure, including VPN, routers, switches, and wireless access points. Troubleshoot and resolve security‑related issues such as VPN performance and firewall configuration. Deliver first, second, and third‑level technical support within a large corporate help‑desk environment. Perform problem analysis, troubleshooting, and resolution for desktop hardware, software applications, LAN, and VPN connectivity. Communicate effectively with users and management in both oral and written forms. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field (preferred). 4+ years of experience in cybersecurity (firewalls, IPS/IDS, anti‑virus, SEIM). 3+ years of telephony experience. 3+ years of help‑desk support experience. 1+ year of hands‑on experience with Palo Alto firewalls. Experience with Cisco, Extreme, Meraki, or Aruba networking platforms. Experience with VOIP telephone systems. Experience with Windows desktop operating systems. Strong documentation and network diagramming skills. Preferred certifications: CISSP, Security+, CCNA/CCNP, or equivalent. Team player with a proactive, customer‑service orientation. Strong problem‑solving, logical, and analytical skills. Excellent organizational and independent work abilities.
