Athletic Coach - Swimming Part Time • The Bronx, NY, US Job Start Date(s): Winter 2025/26 Salary: $1,500.00 to $5,000.00 annually Capital Preparatory Schools is a charter school management organization operating a network of educational communities. Job Summary: Capital Preparatory Schools is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Athletic Coach to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing coaching and guidance to scholar-athletes in swimming and helping them develop skills and achieve potential. This part‑time position requires availability during afternoon and evening hours and on weekends. Key Responsibilities Follow administrative procedures established by Capital Preparatory Schools as outlined in the Athletics Policies and Procedures Manual. Develop and implement practice plans for swimmer athletes to ensure conditioning and training for competition. Provide individualized coaching and instruction to improve technique, physical fitness, and overall performance. Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and other coaches regarding team expectations, schedules, and progress. Schedule and supervise all team practices, games, and events, both home and away. Promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive attitudes among swimmers. Maintain equipment, uniforms, accurate records, and statistics for team performance. Enter grades for all swimmer athletes. Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of the league and complete end‑of‑season checklists. Will fundraise as required. Enforce team travel standards for behavior and appropriate dress. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports science, or related field preferred; high school diploma required. Active certification to coach in the State of New York. Experience coaching at the high‑school level, focused on skill development and player improvement. Strong knowledge of swimming, including current strategies, techniques, and trends. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to motivate and inspire athletes. Ability to work collaboratively with other coaches and staff. Valid CPR / First Aid certification. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willing to obtain passenger endorsement and maintain excellent driving record. Position requires weekends, afternoon/evening, and travel.
