Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in telemetry nursing, providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Position Overview

The Telemetry Registered Nurse will be responsible for monitoring and managing patients with cardiac and telemetry needs. This role requires a commitment to providing exceptional care and effective communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry strips.
• Administer medications and titrate drips as prescribed by physicians.
• Provide patient education and support to patients and their families.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records.
• Participate in patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Assist with various procedures and adhere to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification.
• A valid Washington state or Compact nursing license.
• Minimum of one year of telemetry nursing experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Shift Details

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Schedule: Days from 7 AM to 7 PM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Based on unit needs and demands
• Holiday Requirement: Coverage needed for holidays
• Floating Requirement: Flexibility to float within competency scope as needed

Work Environment

This position is located in a busy telemetry unit with a total of 96 beds, and nursing ratios of 1:4-6 for RNs and 1:8-16 for nurse aides. The unit frequently cares for patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pneumonia (PNA), and general surgical and medical telemetry needs. The ability to collaborate effectively with charge nurses and house supervisors is essential.

Dress Code

Navy tops and bottoms are required as part of the dress code.
