The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate’s educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center, formerly known as Saint Barnabas Medical Center, is New Jersey’s oldest non‑sectarian hospital. It treats more than 32,000 inpatients and 82,000 Emergency Department patients each year and offers more than 100 medical and surgical specialty and subspecialty services. Required Qualifications Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. At least 2 years experience in Med/Surg Pulmonary Nursing. Successful completion of all Orientation Programs. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. Certifications and Licenses Required Active NJ RN License or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Scheduling Requirements Per Diem. 2 – 12.5 hour shifts per month, both shifts on weekend. 1 – 12.5 hour Summer Holiday (Easter, July 4th, Labor Day). 1 – 12.5 hour Winter Holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s). Essential Functions Organizes and administers individualized age‑specific professional care to patients within an assigned unit of the hospital in support of medical care. Supports philosophy, objectives and the mission and vision of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and the Department of Nursing. Practices in accordance with the State Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nurses, Department of Health Regulations, TJC requirements and other regulatory agencies. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning. Participates in unit Performance Improvement evaluation activities.
