Director of Systems Engineering

Overview Director of Systems Engineering oversees the Process Improvement Department, developing goals and plans that support operational and quality hospital improvement goals, and fulfilling operational management expectations regarding fiscal efficiency, education, communication, and community. The Director directly supervises systems engineers and support staff, managing evaluation and coaching, ensuring professional growth of staff, supporting process improvement teams by advising on project scope and assisting with Lean/Six Sigma tools and improvement strategies. Responsibilities include developing and supervising quality improvement patient safety projects, assisting in departmental strategies, maintaining departmental budget, continuously evaluating resource needs and maintaining relationships with Upstate Community and clinical system resources. The role also provides support, education, and training on process redesign and improvement activities throughout the organization. Position duties and educational requirements are appropriate to the MACCC standard for T.H. Associate Director of Management Engineering. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Applied Statistics, Systems, Industrial Engineering or Mathematics with at least 5 years directly related experience.
