Membership Desk Associate

Seeking a Membership Desk Associate at the Merage Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Irvine. Incumbent needs to provide concierge-level customer service, welcome guests, assist in facilitating memberships, manage facility access, and answer inquiries about fitness, cultural, and community programs.

Current need is for weekends including early morning shifts and for weekday evenings. Open to working other shifts as needed.

Core Responsibilities

• First Point of Contact: Welcome members and guests enthusiastically to ensure a warm, inclusive community environment
• Membership Admin: Handle program and fitness class registrations using JCC's management software.
• Information Hub: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of JCC programs from multiple sources (eg. brochures, website, software, emails, etc.) and by communicating with appropriate department heads.
• Facility Security: Ensure the facility is only accessed by active members and approved guests, handling check-ins and managing visitor passes.
• Customer Support: Answer phones, respond to member inquiries, and resolve or escalate complaints and facility issues to the appropriate manager

Qualifications & Skills

• Customer Service Experience: 1-2 years in front desk, hospitality, or concierge roles highly preferred. Experience in a fast-paced CS role desirable
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and a highly welcoming demeanor
• Tech Literacy: Ability to quickly become proficient in database systems as well as proficiency in standard office software
• Flexibility: Ability to work varying shifts, which often include early mornings, evenings, and weekends
• Community Focus: Understanding ofor willingness to learn aboutJewish values, culture, and community programming

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift or move office supplies and equipment (up to 25 lbs).
