Programmer – Advanced (Mainframe/Cobol Developer)We are seeking an experienced Programmer – Advanced (Mainframe Developer) to support Medicaid IT systems and enterprise application initiatives. This role involves maintaining and enhancing production systems, implementing code changes, supporting ongoing development efforts, and collaborating with technical and business teams. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mainframe technologies, COBOL development, database systems, and troubleshooting within large-scale enterprise environments.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with Medicaid Services teams and technical staff to implement coding changes and enhancementsDevelop, modify, test, and maintain COBOL and ADS applications using IDMS databasesAnalyze technical specifications and translate business requirements into application solutionsDebug applications and perform unit, integration, and system testingSupport QA, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and external testing effortsTroubleshoot production issues and provide timely resolutionParticipate in application maintenance and knowledge transfer activitiesDocument application logic, inputs, outputs, and technical processesWork collaboratively with internal teams and external partnersParticipate in rotational on-call support as neededRequired QualificationsAssociate degree or equivalent professional work experience10+ years of Mainframe development experience10+ years of experience with MVS COBOL10+ years of experience with JCL10+ years of experience with IDMS/Network10+ years of experience with DB27+ years of experience with CA-ADS5+ years of experience with Changeman5+ years of experience with CICS5+ years of experience with VSAMPreferred QualificationsExperience with SASExperience with File-AidExperience supporting Medicaid or Medicare claims processing systemsExperience with MQExperience with EndevorExperience with Xpeditor
