Chief Operating Officer

A newly established trust company affiliated with a well-known and highly respected Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to help build and lead the organization's operational infrastructure. This is a unique opportunity to join a startup trust company with the resources, reputation, and established client base of a leading wealth management organization behind it. The COO will be a key member of the executive leadership team and will play an integral role in building the trust company from the ground up, including establishing its operational framework, policies and procedures, technology, controls, and team. The COO will oversee the day-to-day operations of the trust company while partnering closely with senior leadership to develop a scalable platform capable of supporting the organization's long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the build-out and day-to-day operations of a newly established trust company. Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute the company's operational strategy and long-term vision. Build the operational infrastructure, policies, procedures, workflows, and internal controls necessary to support a scalable trust platform. Provide oversight of trust administration and operational processes, ensuring accounts are administered in accordance with governing documents, internal policies, and applicable regulations. Establish processes around client onboarding, account opening, asset transfers, distributions, cash management, and other trust-related activities. Partner closely with compliance and legal resources to maintain adherence to regulatory requirements and prepare for regulatory examinations and audits. Develop a comprehensive operational risk management and internal control framework.
