We are currently seeking experienced Marine Shipfitters to join our team at a local shipyard. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in shipbuilding, ship repair, and structural fabrication, with the ability to read and interpret blueprints and work independently in a fast-paced marine environment.

Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret shipbuilding blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Lay out, fit, align, and assemble structural components and steel sections of vessels.
• Use measuring tools, levels, squares, and templates to ensure accurate fit-up.
• Perform tack welding as required for assembly.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and other fabrication equipment safely.
• Install foundations, bulkheads, decks, frames, and other structural components.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Follow all shipyard safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
• Collaborate with welders, supervisors, and other trades to meet production schedules.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of shipyard shipfitting experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and structural drawings.
• Experience using cutting torches, measuring instruments, and fabrication tools.
• Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
• Strong understanding of shipyard safety standards.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, kneel, climb, bend, and work in physically demanding environments for extended periods.

Schedule:

• Full-time position with overtime opportunities available.
