Clinical Area Director - Nurse Practitioners

Responsibilities Works with GSE operating teams to design and deploy scalable operational and administrative functions that serve a variety of clinical environments. This role ensures that there are clear objectives, effective communications, and actionable reporting on clinical, operational, financial, risk management, and compliance functions related to NP clinical services Builds relationships and further the mission of GSE with clients and prospective clients Networks with key community leaders in the NP field, colleges, and institutions to attract, recruit and retain clinicians Deploys, facilitates, or coordinates enterprise-wide Nurse Practitioner functions Oversees NP records reviews, chart audits, and peer review in coordination with Clinical Area Managers and Quality Management Team to ensure records meet corporate policy requirements and accreditation requirements Handles Nurse Practitioner orientation Plans in-service training and ensures that the Nurse Practitioners participate in continuing education activities Collaborates with the marketing team for clinician involvement in community service activities designed to enhance public awareness of the needs of the most vulnerable citizens and/or to increase awareness of the services GSE offers Manages clinician performance in conjunction with the Clinical Area Managers. Provides direction, training, and coaching. Conducts performance planning and review sessions. Provides guidance on career development. Implements recognition and rewards programs. Applies counseling, disciplinary, and corrective action programs, as necessary Ensures compliance with federal, state, and company policies and regulations and standards for professional conduct and services Ensures compliance with established productivity standards. Ensures quality of services, including use of Evidence Based Practices. Measures outcomes indicating excellent results of services compared to service system benchmarks Provides services at the Company’s corporate office and in the field at current or potential client facilities in all current or future states in which GSE operates Interviews and hires Nurse Practitioners and assists with orientation and training Travels by car as required, with overnight stays approximately 20% of the time Qualifications Master’s degree in advanced nursing required Actively licensed Advanced Nurse Practitioner (at least two years with prescribing authority preferred) 3+ years of progressively responsible management experience and staff supervision are required Excellent time management, communication, and stress management skills Demonstrated empathy and interpersonal skills Clinical experience managing services, including mental health and SUD, and populations with significant medical, social, and behavioral complexity Ability to provide leadership and team management as well as the ability to recruit and retain clinical staff Flexibility Self‑aware; uses appropriate self‑expression and effective interpersonal skills Builds trust and influences action; serves as a positive role model Adapts communication style and delivery method effectively; listens to understand and facilitates open exchange of ideas Seeks to clarify and understand issues, makes decisions based on data, presents conclusions appropriately, and considers long‑term impact and self‑corrects ineffective solutions Participates in organization‑wide goal setting and communicates organization‑wide objectives to the behavioral health team Builds long‑term ability to produce and sustain results by successfully acquiring and retaining the right talent Demonstrates effective problem‑solving skills; assesses and researches preventable errors and incidents Able to pass pre‑employment background check, including motor vehicle record review and drug screening Valid driver’s license Active auto insurance policy Must have reliable transportation.
