Purpose Statement/Position Summary: As a part of the Ambulatory Float Pool, provide smooth outpatient flow resulting in optimum patient satisfaction and clinic operation. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate appointments and assist patients and families as needed. Participate in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, from customer service, message distribution, appointment scheduling, encounter registration, referrals management, financialclearance and verification. Must be highly flexible, adaptable, enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a team environment. Coordinates ancillary services, consultations, and referrals ordered for patients. Answers and screens incoming calls, takes and relays messages to clinicians.In instances of short staffing and high demand/peak times when ambulatory clinics require staffing to ensure smooth operations, the Ambulatory Float Pool– Patient Service Representative II would assist in coverage of assuming theduties of Ambulatory Float Pool – Patient Service Representative I. Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience Required: 3 years experience in customer service, with 1 of those years in a medical office setting. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and telephone manner. Must be highly flexible, adaptable,enthusiastic, have a proactive approach, work efficiently and effectively under pressure in a team environment. Must be comfortable with computers and medical terminology. Knowledge of major insurance plans and types of coverage provided, including government health programs. Preferred: 2 years experience in a medical office setting Previous experience in float pool setting Bilingual English/Spanish This position requires traveling to all CHLA clinics depending on need. Education/Licensure/Certification: High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Pay Scale Information

USD $47,840.00 - USD $63,024.00
