Role Overview

We are seeking an entry-level accounting professional who is eager to learn and grow within both Financial Reporting and Corporate Accounting. This role will support two accounting teams and offer exposure to a wide variety of accounting and financial reporting activities. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their accounting career who wants exposure to month-end close activities, financial reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and other corporate accounting functions. Hourly pay rate begins at $30 per hour W2 (negotiable).

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Financial Reporting team with the preparation and organization of quarterly and annual reporting activities.
• Support the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and equity schedules.
• Prepare and maintain journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Assist with account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Help support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Research accounting variances and assist in compiling explanations.
• Assist with internal controls implementation, compliance, and testing.
• Support the preparation of state and federal regulatory reports.
• Collaborate with external auditors by providing requested information.
• Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, relevant internship experience, or strong accounting coursework.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience.

Technical Skills:

• Fundamental understanding of accounting concepts, including journal entries, debits, credits, and account reconciliations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Experience with financial statement preparation.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Competencies:

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated willingness to learn and ask questions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with an ERP system such as Oracle or Workiva.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
• Previous exposure to month-end close activities and intercompany accounting.
• Familiarity with regulatory accounting and reporting.
