Family Law Paralegal

Essex Richards, P.A., is seeking an experienced and highly organized Family Law Paralegal to support an attorney team focused on collaborative, mediation, arbitration and litigation matters. The qualified individual will be responsible for case management, document drafting, client communications, court filings, and administrative tasks. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, discretion, and the ability to prioritize work for the team. Responsibilities Maintain organized client files, deadlines, and court calendars Prepare pleadings, discovery, financial affidavits, and correspondence Serve as a compassionate, reliable point of contact for clients Assist with hearing prep and scheduling Track time and billing Qualifications Family Law experience preferred (4+ years ideal) Strong drafting, organization, and communication skills Ability to work independently within a smallteam environment Empathy and professionalism when working with clients in sensitive situations Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word/Outlook/Excel), Adobe Acrobat, court-filing portals (ECF, PACER, etc.), and legal billing online applications Notary public preferred Essex Richards, P.A., is an established small‑midsize Charlotte law firm that has made its home in the South End / Dilworth area for 50 years.
