RN - Specialty II - IMCU - FT - Nights - JDCH

Nursing Position in Hollywood, Florida

Provides direct patient care in an area designated as a specialty unit in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.

Responsibilities include collaborating as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, evaluating learning needs of the patient and, or family and providing patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources. Monitors, documents, and communicates patient condition as appropriate. Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

Competencies include accountability, customer service, development and implementation of plan of care, knowledge of disease process, organization skills, patient and family centered care, patient safety - nursing, problem solving - patient care, responding to change, and standards of behavior.

Education and certification requirements include an accredited nursing program, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP, and department specific credentials.

Working conditions and physical requirements include bending and stooping, climbing, keyboard entry, kneeling, lifting/carrying patients and non-patients, pushing or pulling non-patients, reaching, repetitive movement, running, sitting, squatting, standing, walking, audible speech, hearing acuity, smelling acuity, depth perception, distinguishing color, seeing - far and near, bio hazardous waste, biological hazards, blood and/or bodily fluids, communicable diseases and/or pathogens, hazardous chemicals, hazardous medication, computer monitor, domestic animals, fire risk, magnetic fields, needles/sharp objects, potential for physical assault, wet or slippery surfaces.
