Staff Accountant

NewStore is looking for an Accounting Manager to join our Global Accounting team located across 4 entities in the US, Germany, Netherlands, and UK. You will play a key role in overseeing and supporting our global accounting team, managing day-to-day operations, coordinating the audit process, and serving as a primary liaison with external partners. You will also help ensure a smooth and efficient month-end close, review work, and drive process improvements with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and operational discipline. The candidate will report to the Corporate Controller.Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across a global team, while actively contributing to key areas of the month-end close to ensure accurate and timely financial reportingReview and prepare selected journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial results to maintain a high standard of accuracy and completenessSupport and help manage a smooth and efficient month-end close process, identifying opportunities to improve timelines and workflowsServe as a primary liaison with external partners, including auditors, tax advisors, and other consultantsCoordinate and support the annual audit process, including managing audit timelines, preparing deliverables, and responding to auditor requests, in partnership with the Corporate ControllerPartner with the team to ensure US and Local GAAP compliance across global entities, reviewing key areas and escalating complex issues as neededSupport key accounting areas such as revenue recognition, equity, and other complex or judgmental areas by reviewing analyses and partnering with internal and external stakeholdersIdentify process inefficiencies and drive improvements, leveraging automation and technology to enhance accuracy and efficiencyImplement and maintain best practices for accounting processes and financial reportingMentor and support accounting team members, providing guidance, reviewing work, and helping prioritize workload effectivelyCollaborate cross-functionally with finance and other teams to support business initiatives and ensure alignment with accounting processesAssist with ad hoc projects and initiatives as necessaryOversee statutory annual financial statements and local audits across global entities, ensuring compliance and timely filings in coordination with the Finance Director, external tax advisors/auditors, and other partnersOur ideal candidate has:5-8 years of relevant accounting experienceStrong understanding of US GAAP and core accounting principlesPublic accounting experience, preferredCPA certified, preferredExperience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems preferredExperience working across multiple entities or international subsidiaries preferredStrong proficiency in Excel and/or Google Sheets, with overall comfort across Microsoft and Google Workspace toolsAbility to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectivelyA well-developed sense of self-accountability, motivation, and ambitionAt NewStore, we are on a mission to create a seamless, app-based omnichannel experience that will change the game for innovative retail brands.
