Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Missouri license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System.

Additional Details:

No medical marijuana cards accepted. You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, pre/post hemodialysis management, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care/management, phlebotomy, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, managing cardiac drips - no titration, PCA, thrombolytic agents, substance withdrawal, ortho trauma, traction, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, isolation precautions.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience: Preferred Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

Special Requests: Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility. For time off, will allow up to 2 requests, no more than a total of 40 hours (5 days) of time off during contract.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. Unit patients are waiting to be admitted to the hospital inpatient unit. Care starts in the Emergency Department until a bed is available.

Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required. No call. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.

Floating Requirements: Float within service line when needed.

All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
