Sr Mobile Diesel Mechanic Monday - Friday

Sr. Mobile Diesel Technician Duties: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. Perform minor adjustment and repairs on various truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions (manual and automatic), clutches, and differentials. Diagnose, adjust, and repair various truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starters/alternators, air conditioning, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials. Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges. Road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation. Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and generate and evaluate alternatives using sound judgment. Independently manage parts inventory and equipment provided on company‑issued service truck and perform periodic reconciliation. Maintain and operate company‑issued service vehicle, conduct safety checks, and conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections. Work with and listen effectively to clients to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, and resolve problems. Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work activities and time allocations effectively. Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks. Document work according to company standards and upload pictures, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) using the company‑issued iOS device and proprietary TRAIT application. Accurately complete DOT forms and all other required documentation in a timely manner. Work with a high degree of independence and manage own daily schedule. Maintain a high level of productivity and work within or close to most standard repair times. Obtain parts from approved local and national vendors as necessary for repairs. Communicate with management and support team via email or phone to obtain approvals on repair estimates, retrieve purchase order numbers, and discuss RO findings. Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations, including OSHA, EPA, and DOT. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience in a related field; alternatively, a higher degree or certification in a related discipline or 5 years of experience may also qualify. At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment. Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties. OEM training and certifications preferred. Participation in and completion of all company‑required training. Must complete a DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical (or a valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining). Must be at least 21 years old. Safe driver status required; valid state‑of‑residence driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File. Compensation Hourly pay rate is in the range of $32.26 to $48.41 per hour.
