Role Description The Underwriting Analyst is a part-time, remote role responsible for supporting the evaluation of real estate investment opportunities across the Sunbelt region. Day-to-day tasks include building and updating financial models, analyzing property operating statements, market data, and rent comparables, and assisting in the preparation of underwriting memos and investment committee materials. The role involves reviewing deal assumptions, stress-testing scenarios, and supporting due diligence by coordinating data requests and organizing documents. The Underwriting Analyst collaborates with investment team members to refine underwriting inputs, contribute to risk assessments, and help maintain underwriting templates and tools.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong analytical skills and a solid foundation in finance to build and interpret financial models and cash flow projections.
• Candidates should possess underwriting experience or coursework, with familiarity in real estate or insurance underwriting principles and risk assessment.
• Candidates should possess effective communication skills, including the ability to present complex financial findings clearly in written reports and presentations.
• Candidates should possess a basic understanding of real estate and capital markets, including exposure to investment analysis, valuation, and market research.
• Additional beneficial qualifications include proficiency in Excel and financial modeling tools, strong attention to detail, ability to work independently in a remote setting, and current pursuit or completion of a degree in finance, real estate, economics, or a related field.
