Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ICU - Intensive Care Unit Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/08/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel RN Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Job Details Work 12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM 36 hours per week can be offered Every other weekend requirement Patient ratios typically 2:1, may flex to 3:1 during high census periods Floating requirement within hospital or affiliate hospitals No call requirement Must have minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience (no exceptions) Travel experience required - unit will not accept first-time travelers Required certifications: ACLS, BCLS, NIH Stroke Scale Must pass EKG testing prior to start Strong neuro critical care background required, not just general ICU Experience with ventilators, IV starts, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required Blood product administration, central line care/management, continuous IV sedation experience needed CVA/Acute stroke management, external ventricular drains (EVD), ICP monitoring required Post neurosurgery management and lumbar drain experience essential Care of ventilated patients and isolation precautions/PPE use required Arterial line management experience preferred Work with specialized equipment including EVD, lumbar drains, Camino, LICOX, NICOM, and Arctic Sun Use Epic charting system, Pyxis, and SBAR communication 24 hours of unit orientation over 2 days or nights Navy blue and white scrub colors required Maximum 7 days RTO allowed, cannot work more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually Facility This healthcare organization operates as a comprehensive stroke center specializing in neurological intensive care. The 13-bed unit maintains an average daily census of 11-12 patients and provides advanced neurological care with state-of-the-art equipment and comprehensive interdisciplinary support services including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and specialized monitoring capabilities.
