About the Position

• Part-time Pulmonology locum tenens opportunity
• Approximately 0.25 FTE
• Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• No call responsibilities
• Outpatient clinic setting
• Approximately 14–16 patients per day
• Adult and geriatric patient population
• Epic EMR
• No required procedures
• Physician will work independently with support from hospital-based services
• Excellent option for a pulmonologist seeking a flexible recurring schedule

Schedule

Coverage will begin with approximately 1 week per month , with the schedule then transitioning to approximately 1 week every other month or quarter , based on practice needs.

Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday
Call: None

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient pulmonary care
• Evaluate and manage adult and geriatric patients
• Diagnose and treat a variety of pulmonary conditions
• Develop individualized treatment plans
• Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic studies
• Provide ongoing follow-up and care coordination
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
• Practice independently while collaborating with available hospital-based specialists and services

Requirements

• MD/DO specializing in Pulmonology
• Active Alaska medical license in hand at presentation
• BLS certification from AHA or American Red Cross
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Documentation of relevant cardiovascular disease services within the previous 24 months, as required for requested privileges (waived for providers who completed training within the previous year)

Practice Environment

The practice is located within a Critical Access Hospital with adult Level IV trauma services. Physicians will have access to hospitalist and emergency medicine coverage, along with multiple specialties available Monday–Friday.
