Human Resources Specialist

We’re looking for a hands-on HR & Operations Coordinator to be our first US-based hire in Silicon Valley. In this foundational role, you’ll own end-to-end recruiting operations and serve as the operational backbone for our growing US team. One of your first and most important responsibilities will be leading the search and selection of our US office space——helping us choose a location that reflects our culture and supports our long-term growth. You’ll partner closely with our global HQ to build our US presence from the ground up, shaping everything from how we hire to how we run our day-to-day operations. Responsibilities Own full-cycle recruiting: craft and post job descriptions, source candidates (LinkedIn, job boards, referrals), screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and manage timely, professional candidate communications Lead the process of researching, evaluating, and selecting our US office space, including site visits, lease discussions, and move-in coordination Manage US operations including virtual office setup, registered address, vendor management, contract administration, and day-to-day operational support Partner with HQ to manage hiring workflows, offer approval processes, and onboarding for new hires via our Employer of Record (EOR) platform Maintain our ATS / recruiting tracker and generate weekly pipeline and funnel reports to inform hiring decisions Support evolving operational priorities in a fast-moving startup environment Requirements 2+ years of HR coordination or recruiting experience in the Bay Area / US market, with direct ownership of core HR/recruiting workflows Solid understanding of US employment practices, including at-will employment, I-9 verification, background checks, and standard offer letter conventions Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable operating in ambiguity with a strong bias for action Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you’ll interact daily with US vendors, candidates, and cross-functional partners Ability to work independently in a remote-first environment, with regular check-ins with global leadership Requires native or bilingual proficiency in Mandarin Chinese to facilitate highly effective cross-border collaboration with global HQ. Nice to Have Experience onboarding employees through an Employer of Record (EOR) platform such as Deel, Remote, Rippling, or similar Experience building operational infrastructure from the ground up for an early-stage team (0→1) Location & Work Authorization This is an onsite Bay Area role. You will help select our US office location and work remotely from within the Bay Area until the office is established.
