About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Department Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Evenings Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year in Emergency Department License: Current RN License (eligible for licensure in state) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS from AHA only; TNCC; NIHSS Must-Have: 1 year Emergency Department experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility or 2 years in a Level 2 Trauma facility. Description: This position requires utilization of the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for the provision of patient care. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with mission, values, and service standards. Performs direct patient care activities for all age groups, which include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Monitors and coordinates patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with established guidelines of nursing practice. Demonstrates skill in human relations and communications. Must possess demonstrated clinical expertise in the area of responsibility. Physical demands include standing and walking most of the time on duty. Lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs is required. Usually works in a clean, air-conditioned area. Physical demands involve pushing, pulling, gripping up to 50 lbs., pinching up to 15 lbs., kneeling, crouching, and crawling minimally.
