Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a night shift assignment requiring CA RN licensure and at least 2 years of ICU experience.

Job Details

• Work in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital setting,
• Patient ratio of 1:2,
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30,
• Uses Epic charting system,

Job Requirements

• Active CA RN license required,
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS,
• MAB Training required,
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Epic charting experience required,
• Experience with IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration,
• Experience with ventilator management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning (ETT, NT),
• Experience with cardiac drip titration and vasoactive drip titration,
• Experience managing cardiac dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction/failure,
• Experience with CVA/acute stroke management,
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred,
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred,

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care across the full nursing process for ICU patients of varying ages, cultures, and conditions,
• Demonstrate leadership on the unit and participate in multidisciplinary patient care conferences,
• Serve as a patient advocate and collaborate with families and interdisciplinary teams on care planning,
• Maximum RTO is 7 days per contract with only 1 holiday allowed off per contract,
• Holiday coverage required for New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day,
• Must complete lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing,
• 7-year work history verification required for all candidates,
• Local candidates accepted at local rate within a 50-mile radius,
• Returning staff must have been separated for at least 1 year to return as a traveler,
• First-time travelers are not preferred for this assignment
