Job Title Endoscopy Technician Location Port St. Lucie, Tradition Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Martin Health Shift & Schedule Days, 6:30am–5:00pm Job Summary Join Cleveland Clinic Tradition Hospital's team of caregivers that provide top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Port St. Lucie. Opening its doors in 2013 and expanding in 2017, this state‑of‑the‑art acute care facility has 177 patient rooms and offers services in a wide variety of specialties to meet community needs. The Endoscopy Technician assists the physician with all endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopies, esophagogastroduodenoscopies (EGD), ERCP, flexible sigmoidoscopies and EUS. In this role, you will ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of all endoscopes and completion of all documentation logs and records, assist the RN with patient care, patient recovery and the final cleaning of rooms, and gain extensive experience with advanced procedures within an elite healthcare organization. Work Hours A caregiver in this position works days from 6:30am–5:00pm. Responsibilities Assist nurses and physicians in all aspects of GI procedures, including stocking rooms with equipment and supplies and maintaining proper procedures for the cleaning and storage of endoscopes. Change chemical sterilant and clean scope washer according to policy. Assess endoscopes daily and report any damage to the director. Prepare and send out scopes for repair after notifying the director. Assist in the orientation of new personnel to all in‑room procedures and to the process for cleaning and disinfection of scopes. Perform clerical duties if needed in the absence of the scheduler. Transport specimens according to policy using universal precautions. Make pre‑op calls to patients to obtain preliminary information. Identify opportunities for cost savings and make full use of existing resources. Minimum Qualifications High School or GED Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross One year of experience in a hospital setting Preferred Qualifications Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMT) Advanced endoscopy experience (ERCP, EUS) Physical Requirements All employees are expected to meet the standards of performance outlined in the organizational‑wide competencies listed below as applied to the position: World Class Service Orientation, Adaptability, Efficiency and Effectiveness, Essential Job Requirements.
