Overview

We’re seeking an Industrial Hygienist (Level I or Level II) to support on-site environmental and industrial hygiene field services, including asbestos, lead, IAQ, and hazardous materials (HAZMAT) investigations.

This is a hands-on, field-based role based in Bensalem, PA, supporting a range of environmental projects. We are open to candidates at both early-career (Level I) and more experienced (Level II) stages, with responsibilities and independence aligned to experience level.

Level I candidates will build technical skills while working closely with senior team members, while Level II candidates will operate with greater independence, contribute to reporting and client interaction, and support junior staff in the field.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities (All Candidates):

• Monitor asbestos and lead abatement projects
• Conduct asbestos surveys and field investigations
• Perform fungal (mold) investigations, including:

- Air-o-cell and tape lift sampling

• Moisture meter readings
• Photo documentation and daily logs
• Conduct IAQ investigations using direct-reading instruments (e.g., Graywolf, Dust Meter, 4 Gas Meter)
• Perform water sampling (basic to complex depending on experience)
• Support HAZMAT surveys (asbestos, lead, and universal waste)

Additional Responsibilities – Level II:

• Perform moderately complex fieldwork with increased independence
• Assist in training and mentoring junior Industrial Hygienists
• Support project managers with field coordination and execution
• Contribute to data analysis and final report preparation
• Provide technical guidance to clients on environmental and industrial hygiene issues
• Perform Asbestos Project Inspector (API) duties in the City of Philadelphia
• Conduct comprehensive asbestos surveys (moderate to high complexity)
• Perform lead inspections and risk assessments
• Develop fungal remediation work plans
• Conduct complex water sampling (e.g., VAMC, Legionella, HPC)
• Conduct universal waste surveys

Requirements

Level I:

• 0.5–2 years of experience in industrial hygiene, environmental consulting, or related field
• Required certifications:

Asbestos Building Inspector
Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor
NIOSH 582
Lead RRP
Lead Dust Sampling Technician

Level II:

• 1.5–4 years of experience with increasing responsibility in industrial hygiene
• Required certifications:

Asbestos Investigator (AI)
Asbestos Building Inspector
Asbestos Contractor/Supervisor
NIOSH 582
Lead RRP
Lead Dust Sampling Technician
Qualification for City of Philadelphia Asbestos Project Inspector (API)

Preferred (Both Levels):

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
• Additional certifications such as AAR membership, Philadelphia Lab License, or Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor

Additional Requirements:

• Valid driver’s license with proof of insurance
• Ability to perform physical fieldwork, including standing, climbing, crawling, and lifting up to 50 lbs
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
