Job Title: Automation Controls Technician - ALL SHIFTS

Shift/Pay/Additional Information:

• Openings on all 3 shifts
  • 1st - 6AM - 2:30PM
  • 2nd - 2PM - 10:30PM
  • 3rd - 10PM - 6:30AM
• Pay: 38.00 - 42.00/hr.
  • Shift Premium on 2nd - $1.50
  • Shift Premium on 3rd - $1.00
  • 1.5 x after 40 hours
  • Double Time on Sundays
• PTO - Skilled trades get 80 hours (prorated based on hire date) for their first two years, and then when they hit the year of their 3rd anniversary PTO increases by 8 hours that year and every year

Job Description

As an Automation Controls Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, vision systems, sensors, safety circuits, and network/communication systems on automated weld cells. You will diagnose and resolve industrial robot faults, support weld-equipment controls, and make controlled program and parameter changes to ensure efficient production.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair PLCs, HMIs, servo drives, vision systems, sensors, safety circuits, and network/communication systems.
• Diagnose and resolve industrial robot faults, including teaching and adjusting points, recovering programs, and restoring cells to production.
• Support weld-equipment controls, including weld power sources/timers, torch and tip systems, and related automation.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, PLC/ladder logic, robot programs, and controls documentation to isolate faults.
• Make controlled program and parameter changes under established change control, and validate before returning equipment to production.
• Respond rapidly to downtime events, perform structured root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to restore uptime.
• Execute preventive (PM) and predictive (PdM) maintenance on controls and automation systems per schedule.
• Support new-equipment installation, automation integration, and continuous-improvement projects.
• Follow LOTO/energy-control, electrical/arc-flash safety, and all safe work practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Toledo, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $45.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
