Radiation Therapist

The Radiation Therapist provides specialized radiation therapy treatment to oncology patients, ensuring precise delivery of prescribed radiation doses. This role involves managing a daily caseload of approximately 25 patients, utilizing advanced equipment such as Varian 21 EX/iX, and maintaining accurate documentation within clinical systems like ARIA and EPIC. The therapist collaborates with the oncology care team to support patient care in a fast-paced outpatient oncology center. Responsibilities:

• Deliver radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients according to prescribed protocols.
• Operate and maintain Varian 21 EX/iX radiation therapy equipment safely and effectively.
• Manage a daily patient caseload averaging 25 individuals.
• Document treatments and patient data accurately using ARIA and EPIC systems.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary oncology team to optimize patient care.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards related to radiation therapy.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide compassionate care throughout treatment.

• Valid California State Radiation Therapist License.
• Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiation Therapy (ARRT (T)).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiation Therapist.
• Proficiency with Varian 21 EX/iX radiation therapy equipment.
• Familiarity with ARIA clinical software.

• Experience using EPIC electronic health record system.
• Additional oncology or radiation therapy certifications.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills within an oncology care setting.

• Call or on-call responsibilities are not required for this position.
• Work environment is an outpatient oncology center specializing in radiation therapy.
• Scrubs are provided by the facility.
• Facility pays for parking.

• Full-time position with guaranteed 40 hours per week.
• Standard daytime shifts; floating between units is not required.
• Start date is ASAP.
