We are a long-standing, premier commercial and residential interior plantscaping and landscape design firm based in Jacksonville, FL. For decades, we’ve transformed corporate offices, luxury hotels, and private residences into thriving green sanctuaries. While our design and technician teams work magic with greenery, we need a sharp, methodical, and independent Full Charge Bookkeeper to anchor our internal financial operations.

You won’t be chasing client payments. We have a dedicated Accounts Receivable Specialist who manages client billing and collections. Your mission? Own the core financial engine—from general ledger integrity and job costing to wholesale nursery AP, payroll, and Florida tax compliance.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or Senior Bookkeeper.
• Software Mastery: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables). Experience with field service software (like Aspire, LMN, or Jobber) is a major plus!
• Industry Knowledge: Background in trades, landscaping, construction, nursery operations, or inventory-based service industries highly preferred.
• Florida Tax Savvy: Solid understanding of Florida sales tax rules regarding service agreements vs. tangible goods sales.
• Mindset: Highly organized, detail-obsessed, and able to work independently with complete accountability.

Responsibilities

• Full-Cycle General Ledger & Closing: Post adjusting journal entries, perform daily/monthly bank and credit card reconciliations, and execute clean month-end and year-end ledger closes.

• Accounts Payable & Wholesale Inventory: Manage end-to-end AP for wholesale plant nurseries, ceramic/pot distributors, soil suppliers, and equipment vendors. Reconcile vendor statements and manage payment scheduling.

• Job Costing & Profitability Analysis: Track direct labor hours and material expenses per job. Work with project leads to ensure commercial maintenance contracts and interior/exterior installations hit target margins.

• Payroll & Field Labor Administration: Process bi-weekly payroll for interior technicians, landscape installation crews, and administrative staff, including hourly overtime tracking and payroll tax allocations.

• State & Federal Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit monthly Florida Sales Tax returns via the Department of Revenue, oversee quarterly payroll tax reports (Form 941/RT-6), and issue annual 1099s.

• Financial Reporting & CPA Liaison: Generate monthly Balance Sheets, P&Ls, and Cash Flow statements. Prepare clean, organized year-end workpapers for our external CPA.
