This role partners closely with the Quality Control Supervisor to ensure regulatory compliance, product integrity, and adherence to food safety standards within a USDA-regulated processing environment.The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in a protein or meat processing facility and demonstrates strong leadership, problem-solving, and compliance expertise.Job Duties:Support oversight of food safety, product quality, and regulatory compliance initiativesAssist with corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes related to food safety and quality non-conformancesHelp implement and maintain compliance with USDA, FSIS, HACCP, SQF, GMP, and SSOP requirementsComplete and/or review required daily, weekly, and monthly monitoring documentationOversee sanitation programs, including SSOP adherence and plant housekeeping standardsSupport microbiological sampling and testing programsEnsure compliance with Foreign Material Control proceduresConduct internal audits, inspections, and verification/validation activities in alignment with SQF standardsEnsure adherence to product specification programsAssist with food safety and quality training initiatives for plant personnelSupport investigation and resolution of customer complaintsProvide training and mentorship to QC team membersMaintain working knowledge of Critical Control Points (CCPs) within a processing environmentServe as backup to the Quality Control Supervisor as neededPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications:Relevant experience within a meat or protein processing environment requiredHACCP certification preferredStrong working knowledge of USDA, FSIS, HACCP, SQF, GMP, SSOP, Quality Assurance, and food microbiology principlesHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven decision-making and problem-solving abilityAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing settingStrong organizational and planning skills#infoodQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information. #J-18808-Ljbffr Sterling Engineering
