Business Development Analyst - 12 month fixed term contract

This role is based in Midtown Manhattan, New York, and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office. What you will be doing: We'relooking for a highlyorganized,collaborativeand analytical thinkingBusiness Development Analyst to join our New York team on a12-month fixed-termengagement. You will workcloselyalongside a team of Business GrowthAdvisors, who help New Zealand companies make informed growth decisions, toidentifyopportunities and understand market dynamicsin the US market. This is a highlymulti-disciplinaryrole that provides exposure to a wide range of sectors, includingtechand AI, manufacturing,food &beverageand consumer products.TheNew Yorkofficehas a strong focus on Food & Beverage, meaningyou'llprovide analysis for some of New Zealand's leading exporters across dairy, seafood, protein, ingredients,wineand consumer food products. Success in this role requires curiosity,adaptability, and the ability to quickly switch between different customers,industriesand business challenges.You'llneed to rapidly build an understanding of unfamiliar topics, navigate ambiguity, and translate complex information into practicaltakeawaysand analysis. Working closely with Business Growth Advisors to deliver fast and flexiblevalue, this role’s key responsibilities include: Conducting market, customer,competitorand channelanalysis Providinginsights andanalysis on the landscape, customers, distributors,partnersand industry contactstobenefitthe commercial growth of New Zealand exporters to the U.S. Leveraging research tools, data platforms, and emerging AI-enabled technologies to gather,analyze, and synthesizeinformation into practicalcommercialanalysis Preparing presentations, reports, briefing papers, and customer-ready materials Monitoring market trends, industry developments,and emerging opportunities This role is based in Midtown Manhattan, New York, and requires a minimum of three days per week in the office.Light travel may berequiredto attendindustry events, and team activities.This position works standard East Coast USbusinesshours with someeveningflexibilityrequiredto work acrosstheNew Zealand morningtimezoneas well. You will bring: Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to turn information into clear, practical insights Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Excel and PowerPoint Comfortable learning and using emerging AI and digital tools, applying them alongside data and research to generate insights and support decision-making A collaborative approach and ability to build strong working relationships Curiosity,initiativeand a willingness to learn An interest in international business, trade and helping New Zealand companies grow 3+years experiencein market research, business analysis, consulting, international business, or a related field would beadvantageous, but we are equally interested in candidates who bring strong curiosity, commercial acumen,and a willingness to learn. The total compensation range for this roleis USD 95,000 -105,000 per annum This rangerepresentsa ‘total package’ approach to compensation and includes the value of a platinum medical insurance plan, including dental and vision coverage.You mayenroll in this group medical plan (pre-tax benefit) and the per-pay-period cash value of compensation will be adjusted accordingly. Alternatively, if medical plan enrollment is not desired, its value may be taken as cash-in-lieu of coverage. Applicants mustbe authorized towork in the United States. Employment visa sponsorship is not available. This is anticipated to be a twelve-month engagement. As with all roles at NZTE USA, employment is at-will and the stated duration reflects the expected length of the assignment rather than a guaranteed term.
