Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist

Sr. AP Accountant
Sparks Group has teamed with a government contractor and is searching for a qualified, committed and motivated Sr. AP Accountant. The Sr. AP Accountant will be responsible for preparation and consolidation of Financial Statements, help implement highly-visible process improvements within the Accounts Payables process, and meticulous AP Vendor Database processing using ERP's like Concur, Oracle and/or Fusion. Responsibilities :
- Prepare and analyze Accounts Payables, journal entries, income statement, balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other financial reports for the AP team on a regular basis
- Analyze statements and review/approve any proposed adjustments, prepare audit schedules and communicate with auditors
- Assist with implementing highly-visible process improvements within the Accounts Payables team procedures to increase efficiency.
- Apply knowledge of laws and regulations and ensure compliance to regulations, policies and procedures
- Provide input and support the development of verbal, analytical, and visual presentation materials for Executive Management
- Support multiple projects, identify opportunities, and carry out ad hoc tasks
Qualifications/Background Profile :
- 5-7+ years of experience in Accounts Payables within a large organization
- Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in large ERP/T&E expense reporting and accounts payable software, specifically Concur
- Oracle Fusion software experience is a plus
