Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department (ED) – Bronson Lakeview Hospital – Part‑time (64 hours per pay period) Location BLH Bronson LakeView Hospital Summary Under general supervision and in accordance with applicable policies and the Michigan Public Health Code, the RN manages patient care throughout the stay, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, delegating tasks, providing direct nursing care, and documenting and communicating patient responses. Responsibilities Utilize the nursing process of assessment, planning, diagnosing, implementing, and evaluating. Coordinate care provided by other professionals and delegate appropriate tasks. Provide aspects of physical care within professional scope, considering patient acuity and complexity. Document and communicate during each tour of duty regarding patient response, resource consumption, and anticipated needs. Maintain awareness of patient comfort and safety. Implement evidence‑based interventions and medication administration in accordance with approved policies. Collaborate with patient, family, and the healthcare team to develop individualized care plans. Continuously evaluate effectiveness of interventions and patient outcomes. Participate in quality improvement activities and use results to enhance nursing practice. Engage in ongoing education and maintain professional records of competency. Assist in operational duties such as documenting swing bed patient care, obtaining supplies, and providing scrub RN support as required. Carry out additional responsibilities for HDU and Swing Bed operations as outlined in unit‑specific sections. Qualifications Associate’s degree in Nursing (required). Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred; must be obtained within eight (8) years of hire. Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing in the state of Michigan. BLS certification required by completion of core orientation. Unit‑specific certifications may be required (Critical Care, ALS, etc.). Completion of Emergency Department unit requirements: SALT triage, ESI triage, NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days; Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within six months; Pediatric Advanced Life Support for Special Care Unit within six months. Shift & Hours Second Shift Part‑time, scheduled eight (8) hours per day with eight (8) hours per weekend shift. Scheduled weekly hours: 32 hours.
