Speech Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (CF) - 2026-27 School Year

Position requires a Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology, eligibility to begin the Clinical Fellowship Year under ASHA supervision, and eligibility for state licensure as a Speech‑Language Pathologist. A school district in Joliet, IL is seeking a motivated Speech‑Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow (SLP‑CF) for the upcoming school year. Position Overview Full‑time, Monday–Friday (35–40 hours/week) Onsite role serving PreK–12 students (placement based on preference and district need) Supervision provided by a licensed SLP to support CF completion Full school year contract with potential for renewal Caseload Details Average caseload of 40–60 students (varies by school/site) Students with mild to moderate needs across general and special education Common areas of service include: Articulation & phonological disorders Receptive/expressive language delays Social/pragmatic communication Fluency and voice disorders Opportunities to work with: AAC devices and assistive technology Autism spectrum disorders Early childhood and transition‑aged students Key responsibilities: Conduct evaluations and re‑evaluations Develop and implement IEP goals Provide direct therapy (individual & small groups) Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families Maintain compliant documentation Illinois State Requirements (SLP‑CF) Hold a Master’s degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program Obtain a Temporary SLP License through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation prior to starting Complete a supervised Clinical Fellowship (~9 months full‑time or equivalent) under a licensed SLP Pass the Praxis exam (or obtain ASHA certification) for full licensure Work toward the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) through American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association For school settings: obtain or be eligible for a Professional Educator License (PEL) with SLP endorsement (requirements vary by candidate pathway) Complete required background checks (fingerprinting, etc.) What We’re Looking For Strong communication and organizational skills Passion for working with school‑aged children Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team Commitment to completing Clinical Fellowship requirements Why This Role?
