LOCATION:
- Hybrid flexibility in Charlotte NC
WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Independently draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements
- Lead negotiations involving vendor agreements, service agreements, partnership agreements, NDAs, amendments, settlement agreements, and other business contracts
- Assess contractual and business risk and clearly communicate potential exposure and recommended solutions to internal stakeholders
- Serve as a key legal contact for external business partners throughout the negotiation process
- Partner with senior legal leadership on contracting strategy, policies, and broader business matters
- Work cross-functionally with departments such as Sales, Operations, Finance, HR, and other business teams
- Develop and maintain contract templates, negotiation guidelines, and playbooks to improve consistency and scalability
- Help strengthen processes surrounding contract intake, drafting, review, approval, execution, and recordkeeping
- Provide guidance and mentorship to legal support or contract administration resources
- Assist with litigation management, legal research, employment matters, corporate transactions, and other legal department priorities
- Manage multiple high-priority matters while exercising strong independent legal judgment
THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active license to practice law and in good standing
- 3-5+ years of relevant legal experience with meaningful commercial contract drafting and negotiation responsibility
- Experience may come from an in-house legal department, law firm, or combination of both
- Strong commercial instincts with the ability to balance legal risk and business objectives
- Comfortable independently negotiating agreements and advising business stakeholders
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-legal audiences
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills within a fast-moving environment
- Experience supporting a growing, multi-location, or operationally complex organization is beneficial
- Employment law exposure is a plus
- Self-directed, entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to operate beyond narrowly defined responsibilities
